¿Espera Estados Unidos otro 11/7 para tomar control de Cuba?

Comencemos diciendo la verdad, el inicio de las hostilidades contra Cuba se remonta a 1898 durante la Guerra de Independencia de Cuba y marcó el comienzo de las injerencias y ocupaciones de Estados Unidos, recrudeciendo su agresión después del triunfo de la Revolución el 1 de enero de 1959 que finalizó la dictadura de Fulgencio Batista e inició del liderazgo de Fidel Castro.
Casi inmediatamente, Estados Unidos aplicó un boicot económico y diplomático contra Cuba, que incluyó reducción de la cuota azucarera en 1960, un embargo parcial sobre exportaciones y finalmente la ruptura de relaciones diplomáticas en enero de 1961. Meses después, el 17 de abril de 1961, el gobierno de Estados Unidos planeó y financió la invasión de Playa Girón en Cuba, después de dar entrenamiento encubierto a exiliados cubanos anticastristas en la Brigada de Asalto 2506, en campamentos en Guatemala y en Nicaragua. Todo con el apoyo de la CIA, bajo el mandato del presidente Dwight D. Eisenhower en 1960 y la autorización del presidente John F. Kennedy en 1961. El desembarco fue un fracaso total, iniciando una larga trayectoria de agresión clandestina, económica y de asfixia hasta el presente violando la soberanía de Cuba y procurando un cambio de gobierno.
Este análisis es propicio para la fecha de hoy, ya que el 11 de julio de 2021 o mejor conocido como el 11/7, marcó otro fracaso del gobierno de Estados Unidos y ha desembocado en las acciones actuales contra Cuba. El mismo embajador de los Estados Unidos hizo alusión en la ONU a las protestas en Cuba el 11/7/21, reafirmando su respaldo al pueblo cubano y seguramente en espera de otra fraguada manifestación. Mientras, el gobierno de Estados Unidos mantiene a Cuba en total obscuridad y esperando que los cubanos desesperados corran a manifestarse en las calles ara intervenir.
La manifestación del 11/7 no solo fue una protesta espontánea popular liderada por el dramaturgo y activista cubano Yunior García Aguilera y otros. El líder de la plataforma opositora Archipiélago recibió asesoría y respaldo de organizaciones exiliadas en Miami como la Fundación Nacional Cubano Americana (FNCA) y el Directorio Democrático Cubano, para según ellos promover democracia en Cuba…..aparentemente con escopetas. Y como pasa,siempre después Yunior García Aguilera se asiló en España el 16 de noviembre de 2021, junto a su esposa, después de haber organizado la fracasada “Marcha Cívica por el Cambio” conocida como el 15N en Cuba. Otra marcha más alentada por Estados Unidos que recibió el apoyo de conocidos legisladores cubano estadounidenses, grupos políticos cubano estadounidenses y medios de comunicación internacionales que creen que todos los cubanos en la diáspora somos monolíticos.
¿Por qué las ansiadas marchas fracasan en Cuba? Porque las protestas del 11 de julio de 2021, 16 de noviembre de 2021 y otras han sido orquestadas por grupos del “exilio” y financiadas por la Agencia de los Estados Unidos para el Desarrollo Internacional (USAID), establecida por el presidente John F. Kennedy en 1961. Sin duda esta actuación de injerencia nunca dará resultados.
Por otro lado, Mike Hammer el Encargado de Negocios y Jefe de Misión de la Embajada de Estados Unidos en La Habana, constantemente visita a los “disidentes”toma café con ellos y les da apoyo. Este proceder en cualquier otro país se vería como espionaje, sin embargo el va por todos lados esparciendo el mensaje del gobierno de Estados Unidos.
El activismo cívico es positivo cuando participan los ciudadanos, ya sea de forma individual o colectiva para promover cambio social y transparencia. Desde 1960, ni el gobierno de Cuba, ni los cubanos hemos tenido la oportunidad de lidiar o hacer frente a nuestros asuntos sin la intervención de los Estados Unidos. Ahí radica el problema, porque siempre ha sido una estrategia de cambio de régimen financiada por el gobierno de Estados Unidos y no entre cubanos.
El único recurso para que Cuba supere todo su potencial es que Estados Unidos retire a Cuba de la lista de países terroristas y que inmediatamente levante el bloqueo o conjunto de sanciones económicas, comerciales y financieras impuestas por Estados Unidos desde 1960. Además, el cese de amenazas de aranceles a terceros países y su presencia militar en el Caribe para bloquear el suministro de petróleo que ha creado una grave crisis en el sistema de salud y asfixia la economía cubana.
Los cubanos de todas partes tenemos que unirnos en un una sola voz contra la sostenida humillación de Estados Unidos, con un trato cruel e insostenible, simplemente porque quieren que Cuba vuelva a ser su protectorado.

Is the United States Waiting for Another 11/7 to Take Control of Cuba?

Let’s start by stating the truth: the beginning of hostilities against Cuba dates back to 1898 during the Cuban War of Independence and marked the start of U.S. interference and occupation. This aggression intensified after the triumph of the Revolution on January 1, 1959, which ended the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista and ushered in the leadership of Fidel Castro.
Almost immediately, the United States imposed an economic and diplomatic boycott against Cuba, which included reducing the sugar quota in 1960, a partial embargo on exports, and finally severing diplomatic relations in January 1961. Months later, on April 17, 1961, the U.S. government planned and financed the Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba, after providing covert training to anti-Castro Cuban exiles in Brigade 2506 at camps in Guatemala and Nicaragua. All of this was done with the support of the CIA, under the mandate of President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1960 and the authorization of President John F. Kennedy in 1961. The landing was a complete failure, initiating a long history of clandestine, economic, and suffocating aggression that continues to this day, violating Cuba’s sovereignty and seeking regime change.
This analysis is timely given today’s date, as July 11, 2021—better known as 11/7—marked another failure for the United States government and led to current actions against Cuba. The U.S. ambassador himself alluded to the 11/7/21 protests at the UN, reaffirming support for the Cuban people while presumably awaiting another manufactured demonstration. Meanwhile, the U.S. government keeps Cuba in total darkness, hoping desperate Cubans will rush into the streets to protest, thereby providing a pretext for intervention.
The 11/7 demonstration was not merely a spontaneous grassroots protest led by Cuban playwright and activist Yunior García Aguilera and others. The leader of the opposition platform *Archipiélago* received guidance and backing from Miami-based exile organizations—such as the Cuban American National Foundation (CANF) and the Cuban Democratic Directorate—ostensibly to promote democracy in Cuba… apparently with shotguns. Predictably, Yunior García Aguilera later sought asylum in Spain on November 16, 2021, alongside his wife, after organizing the failed “Civic March for Change” (known as 15N) in Cuba. This was yet another U.S.-encouraged march supported by prominent Cuban-American lawmakers, political groups, and international media outlets that operate under the assumption that all Cubans in the diaspora hold monolithic views.
Why do these much-anticipated marches in Cuba fail? Because the protests of July 11, 2021, November 16, 2021, and others were orchestrated by “exile” groups and funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)—an agency established by President John F. Kennedy in 1961. Undoubtedly, such interference will never yield results. Meanwhile, Mike Hammer—the Chargé d’Affaires and Head of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Havana—constantly visits “dissidents,” has coffee with them, and offers them support. In any other country, such conduct would be viewed as espionage; yet, he goes around spreading the U.S. government’s message.
Civic activism is positive when citizens participate—whether individually or collectively—to promote social change and transparency. Since 1960, neither the Cuban government nor the Cuban people have had the opportunity to handle or address our own affairs without U.S. intervention. That is where the problem lies, as the approach has always been a regime-change strategy funded by the U.S. government, rather than a process driven by Cubans themselves.
The only way for Cuba to fully realize its potential is for the United States to remove it from the list of state sponsors of terrorism and immediately lift the blockade—that set of economic, commercial, and financial sanctions imposed by the U.S. since 1960. Furthermore, there must be an end to threats of tariffs against third countries and to the U.S. military presence in the Caribbean aimed at blocking oil supplies—actions that have created a severe crisis in the healthcare system and are strangling the Cuban economy.
Cubans everywhere must unite and speak with one voice against the sustained humiliation inflicted by the United States—a form of treatment that is cruel and unsustainable—simply because they want Cuba to become their protectorate once again.
